Non Compliance

The import of plants and plant materials into India require Import Permit and Phytosanitary Certificate. The commodities imported into India should be free from pests and should be properly treated / fumigated as specified in the import permit and the same endorsed in the Phytosanitary Certificate issued at the country of origin. The following events shall be considered as non-conformities and shall be intimated to the concerned Phytosanitary authorities of the exporting country.

1. Import without import permit and or Phytosanitary certificate
2. Phytosanitary certificates without additional declarations/ special conditions as specified in Import Permit.
3. Interception of pests at the port of entry in the imported commodity/ packing material.
4. Phytosanitary certificate / PSC for re-export not in conformity with the IPPC format.
